Music connects hearts
Music that soothes, music that lifts, music that brings Miyazaki to life.
A big band of junior high and high school students from across Miyazaki Prefecture. Each year, members rehearse for about six months under the guidance of professional musicians, and the season ends with a concert alongside a guest musician invited from abroad.
Guest Artists
We invite jazz musicians working at the top of the international scene to Miyazaki for concerts and workshops, giving local musicians and young people the chance to hear world-class playing up close and to perform alongside it.
Past guests
Jazz transcends race and nationality, connecting heart to heart.
From concerts and workshops with internationally active musicians and our youth big band, Miyazaki Swing Junior, to street-corner performances and concerts at schools and care facilities, we bring the joy of jazz to communities across Miyazaki Prefecture. Through music, we help the children who will shape our future grow up free to be themselves.
