From concerts and workshops with guests from around the world and a big band of junior high and high school students, to performances on street corners and at schools and care facilities: here's how we bring energy to Miyazaki through jazz.
A big band of junior high and high school students from across Miyazaki Prefecture. Each year, members rehearse for about six months under the guidance of professional musicians, and the season ends with a concert alongside a guest musician invited from abroad.
Guest Artists
We invite jazz musicians working at the top of the international scene to Miyazaki for concerts and workshops, giving local musicians and young people the chance to hear world-class playing up close and to perform alongside it.
Past guests
Free street-corner concerts held every two months in downtown Miyazaki City. We started them so that people who rarely get to hear jazz can discover how much fun it is, and to brighten the streets of Miyazaki through the power of music. We can also bring Machikado Jazz to your location on request.
Venues
Concerts for people who find it hard to go out in the evening, such as older adults and families with babies, so they can enjoy jazz too.
Venue
Collaborations with restaurants and cafes, born from a wish to bring music and musicians closer to everyday life. Recreating a scene common in the United States, live music in a restaurant, these events let you enjoy live music over a meal in a relaxed, lively atmosphere.
Venues
We organize concerts with artists from overseas and jazz musicians from outside the prefecture.
